Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 2026-10-16

1. Rental Rules Accepted Before Payment

These are the rules you accept in step 2 of the booking, before the payment step. They are part of these Terms and Conditions; the remaining clauses follow.

  1. Cash Cash deposit at the handover of the bike.

A cash deposit is collected in hand when the bike is handed over: €50 for an e-bicycle and €150 for a motorbike. The owner of a listing may set another amount, which is shown in step 2 of the booking. You get the deposit back when the bike comes back.

If something is missing on the returned bike, we keep the deposit. Something is broken (for example a bent wheel)? That is fine, you can have your deposit back.

A man returns a bicycle with the rear wheel missing while another man warns him with a raised finger, and the cash deposit is marked with a red cross
If something is missing, we keep the deposit
A man returns a bicycle with a heavily bent rear wheel while another man shows a thumbs up and the cash deposit is marked with a green checkmark
Something is broken? That's ok, you can have your deposit back
  2. Identity card We take the photo of your ID.

At the handover we photograph your identity document as proof of the rental.

  3. Bicycle to be returned Prepaid time ends, bike should be returned.

If you don't return, we are coming for it. No promises accepted.

  4. Warning road sign with a motorcycle Insurance: who is covered, and who is not.

A motorbike on the platform carries the cover Finnish law requires: the liikennevakuutus (compulsory motor liability insurance). It pays compensation for personal injury and for damage to property that your riding causes to third parties, and for your own injuries as the rider, whoever was at fault. An e-bicycle is a bicycle, not a motor vehicle: no such statutory cover exists for it, so harm you cause to a third party with an e-bicycle is your own liability. Take your own accident and liability insurance, because no cover pays your medical expenses. You ride at your own risk and you must follow the traffic rules.

Taking out the insurance and keeping it valid, and holding the driving licence the vehicle requires, are the duty of the owner and of you as the rider - not of the platform. We require the declaration and check the documents at the handover, and a check by us does not move that duty to us.

  5. Warning road sign with a motorcycle Inappropriate behaviour gets you banned from the platform.

The owner of the vehicle and the platform administrator can ban a person from using the platform, and from renting any vehicle through it, for inappropriate handling of the vehicle, for violating moral norms, and for other inappropriate behaviour. A banned person can still sign in, but can no longer book, and a new account is not opened for them from the same browser. A ban is recorded with its reason in the shared ban list of the vehicle owners.

A ban does not limit your mandatory statutory rights. You are not notified by e-mail of a ban; you can ask about the record at info@gethigh.studio.

Accepted wording: Rental Rules and Safety Instructions v2026-10-16, recorded with your booking.

5. Rental Terms and Conditions

5.1 Rental Requirements

To rent a vehicle (an e-bicycle or a motorbike), you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid government-issued ID
  • Hold the driving licence the law requires for the vehicle you rent (a motorbike requires a motorcycle licence, a moped a moped licence or another valid driving licence, an e-bicycle none) and show it at the handover. Holding a valid licence and the right to ride the vehicle is your own duty as the rider and not ours: a licence check we make does not transfer that duty to us.
  • Have a valid payment method on file
  • Accept these Terms and Conditions
5.2 Rental Period

Rental periods begin when you pick up the bike and end when you return it to the designated location. Late returns may incur additional charges at our standard hourly rate.

5.3 Bike Condition

You agree to:

  • Inspect the bike before use and report any damage or issues
  • Use the bike in a safe and responsible manner
  • Return the bike in the same condition as received (normal wear excepted)
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Pricing

Rental prices are displayed on our website and are subject to change. All prices are in Euros (EUR) and include applicable VAT unless otherwise stated.

6.2 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed on our website. Payment is required at the time of booking.

6.3 Security Deposit

A refundable cash deposit of €50 for an e-bicycle and €150 for a motorbike (or another amount shown for the listing) is collected at the handover. The deposit is returned when the bike comes back. It is withheld only for a part, an accessory or an item that is missing, and otherwise for a late return or a violation of these Terms - never for damage or breakage (section 11.1).

7. Cancellations and Refunds

7.1 Cancellation Policy
  • 24+ hours before rental: Full refund
  • 12-24 hours before rental: 50% refund
  • Less than 12 hours: No refund
7.2 Weather Conditions

In case of severe weather conditions that make riding unsafe, we may cancel or postpone rentals. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

8. Liability and Insurance

8.1 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RRRentals shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of profits arising from your use of our Service.

8.2 Insurance of the vehicle

Every motorbike rented through RRRentals carries the insurance Finnish law requires for a motor vehicle: the liikennevakuutus (compulsory motor liability insurance, "motor liability insurance" or "traffic insurance" in English), under liikennevakuutuslaki (460/2016). That is the statutory minimum cover, and it pays compensation for personal injury and for property damage that the bike causes to third parties in traffic - whoever was at fault - and for the rider's own injuries. The owner of the bike takes the insurance out and keeps it valid while the listing is live; we require the owner's declaration of it before a listing is published and we remove a listing whose insurance is not in force.

Taking that insurance out, paying for it and keeping it valid is the owner's duty and the owner's cost, and it stays the owner's: RRRentals does not take insurance out for a listed vehicle, is not the policyholder or the insured under it and does not pay the premium. We require the owner's declaration and we may ask to see the policy, but neither that requirement nor any check we make transfers this duty, or the liability for a missing cover, to us. Where a motor vehicle is used in traffic without the cover the law requires, the compensation is the owner's liability - the Motor Insurers' Centre may pay the third party and recover it from the owner.

An e-bicycle (pedal assistance limited to 250 W and 25 km/h) is a bicycle in Finnish law, not a motor vehicle. Finnish law requires no insurance for it and none is included in the rental price: harm that a rider of an e-bicycle causes to a third party is the rider's own liability, and it is covered only if the rider has voluntary liability insurance of their own (vastuuvakuutus, normally the liability part of a home insurance).

The third-party cover does not pay for the bike itself. Damage to the bike is not charged to you (section 11.1); if the bike is stolen or lost, section 11.2 applies and you may be liable for what is missing.

8.3 Your own insurance

Neither the insurance of section 8.2 nor the rental includes personal accident, health or income cover for you: it pays the third party, and the rider's own injuries only to the extent the Act provides, and a rider of an e-bicycle has no compulsory cover at all. We strongly recommend that you have your own personal accident and liability insurance before you ride. Our Service does not include personal accident or health insurance coverage.

9. User Responsibilities

As a renter, you agree to:

  • Wear a helmet at all times while riding (provided free of charge)
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations
  • Not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Not allow unauthorized persons to use the bike
  • Lock the bike when unattended
  • Report any accidents, damage, or theft immediately
  • Not modify or tamper with the bike in any way
  • Return the bike to the designated location at the end of the rental period

10. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use the bike for commercial purposes without prior written consent
  • Take the bike outside the designated service area
  • Use the bike for racing, stunts, or off-road riding
  • Overload the bike beyond its specified weight capacity
  • Sublet or lend the bike to third parties
  • Remove or tamper with GPS tracking devices
  • Use the bike for any illegal activity

11. Damage, Loss, and Theft

11.1 Damage and Breakage

You are not liable for damage to the bike, and you are not charged for it. If something is broken when the bike comes back - a bent wheel, a flat tyre, a broken light, a damaged battery or any other breakage or mechanical failure, including damage from an accident - you get your deposit back and no repair cost is charged to you or to your payment method. This is the same rule you accept in the rental rules in section 1.

11.2 Theft or Loss

If the bike is stolen or lost during your rental period, you must:

  • Report it to us immediately
  • File a police report within 24 hours
  • Provide us with a copy of the police report

If the bike is stolen or lost, it is missing and cannot be returned; you may be liable for the full replacement value of the bike if the theft or loss results from your negligence (e.g., failure to lock the bike). What is owed for a missing bike or a missing part may also be withheld from the deposit (clause 6.3 and section 11.1).

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Service, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

13. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of RRRentals or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content without our prior written permission.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Helsinki, Finland.

16. Banning from the Platform

The owner of a vehicle rented through RRRentals, and the platform administrator, may ban a person from using the platform and from renting any vehicle through it for:

  • inappropriate handling of a vehicle (damage, misuse, riding it in a way that endangers the rider or others, handing it on to someone else);
  • violating moral norms; and
  • other inappropriate behaviour towards the owner of the vehicle, the platform, its staff or other customers.
16.1 What a ban means
  • A banned person can still sign in to their account, but can no longer make a booking.
  • An account is not opened, and a booking is not accepted, under another e-mail address used from the same browser or device.
  • A booking made under the exact same name as a banned person, with a different e-mail address, is reported to the platform administrator and to the owner of the booked vehicle, and the identity document is checked at the handover.
  • The ban list is available to the signed in users of the platform, so that a banned person can be recognised before a vehicle is handed over.
16.2 The record of a ban and your rights

A ban is recorded with the reason for it and the first six digits of the personal identity code (the date of birth) read from the identity document at the handover. The ban is entered, and can be lifted, by the vehicle owner who entered it, or by the platform administrator. You are not notified by e-mail of a ban; you can ask about the record at info@gethigh.studio.

A ban does not limit your mandatory statutory rights, and it does not limit your right to have the record checked, corrected or erased under the Privacy Policy.
